SMA500 Modestrip

The SMA500 connector is also successfully used with cladding-mode-stripping polyimide coated fiber for applications requiring no cladding energy at the fiber output end. The SMA500 connector when assembled in Modestrip configuration will couple out most all cladding modes introduced at the fiber input end. Cooling fins provide for convection cooling, and future designs will have a water-cooling option.

Silica-clad 0.22NA fiber coated with high index, heat resistant polyimide fiber is used in most Modestripping cables and jumpers.

Cables and Jumpers are commonly manufactured in 1 to 3 meter lengths, and Fiber Pigtails, that is connector on one end, with bare fiber output are also available.
